Weather AI is committed to digital accessibility in accordance with Israel's Equal Rights for People with Disabilities Law (2005) and meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
1. Our Accessibility Measures
- Semantic HTML: Using correct HTML tags to define page structure (h1, nav, main, section, etc.)
- Keyboard Navigation: All functions are available via keyboard only. Mouse is not required
- Screen Reader Support: Content is properly marked so screen readers like NVDA and JAWS can read the site
- Color Contrast: All text meets WCAG AA contrast standards (at least 4.5:1)
- Text Sizing: Users can increase text size up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- RTL Support: Full support for RTL (right-to-left) text in Hebrew
- Reduced Motion Support: Animations disable to respect prefers-reduced-motion preferences
2. Accessibility Features
- Skip-to-Content: 'Skip to main content' link available for screen readers and keyboards
- Focus Indicators: Interactive elements have clear visual focus indicators
- Alt Text: All images have descriptive alternative text
- ARIA Labels: Buttons and controls have ARIA labels in Hebrew or English
- Breadcrumbs: Hierarchical navigation on every page
- Error Messages: Clear error messages in Hebrew/English
3. Known Limitations
We are working to improve the accessibility of this site. Known limitations include:
- Charts and graphs need detailed text descriptions (in progress)
- Some icons may be context-dependent and challenging to use with screen readers
